Jealous people at other universities claim that Cambridge doesn’t have a Freshers’ Week because lectures normally start after four days – in fact, the fun continues for the whole week and beyond, and no-one feels like they’ve missed out on anything.
When you arrive at Christ’s, we aim to make those first few days easy and memorable, by arranging activities to help you settle in and make friends. Some of this is the formal business of matriculation, the fancy Cambridge word for ‘signing in’ – it basically involves a photo, signing a register and a fancy (free!) meal. Then there’s the fun stuff run by the JCR, such as the legendary BOP (ie. cheesy school disco) and charity punting. Plus, we run a ‘parents and siblings’ system which matches you up with second-years both in and out of your subject, so you can find out everything you need to know and feel part of the College community.
Anyway, we think this video does the talking...
