Treasurer - Hamish Innes
Email: treasurer (@thejcr.co.uk)
Hello, I’m Hamish, a second year NatSci and the current JCR Treasurer.
What do I do as Treasurer?
My job is to ensure smooth running of the college on a day-to-day basis. I manage the JCR's expenditure, and most of the societies in college. This means that I am the person who you should hand your society or club receipts to if you wish to make a claim from college. It is also my job to ensure that societies operating with external accounts do so in a diligent and responsible manner.
What else does the Treasurer do?
During a full academic year the JCR Treasurer has two main jobs; to recommend people for the Old Members' awards in Lent, and to allocate the budget in Easter. These are not performed alone, to do so, these jobs are completed with help from the Finance Committee, which comprises the JCR President, the Treasurer, a few fellows, and a handful of students chosen by the JCR in the respective terms. The Treasurer also sits on the Liaison Committee and the Governing Body once a term with the President, the Vice-President, and the Welfare & Gender Equalities Officers. These meetings are a platform for the JCR to raise issues with the college and are therefore very important for making changes to the way things in college are run.
If you need to get hold of me, either find me around college or email firstname.lastname@example.org
